"The Hoxton Apprentice, on Hoxton Square itself, was pretty quiet the Friday night we went. Odd, considering we proceeded to have a high quality meal at a very reasonable price. Cambodian Crab starter was a bit odd, the melon feeling a little out of place with it. But all other starters and mains were delicious. Recommended, and I hope a few more people start to show up!."

"I went there for Sunday lunch and had the traditional roast which was the nicest I've had in years. The beef was cooked perfectly and had exquisite flavour. The vegetables were incredibly fresh and well-cooked. The Yorkshire was perhaps a little dense. Excellent value for the quality unless you're the kind of person who is fixated on over-sized portions, which this wasn't. The service was pleasant and attentive. And knowing that just being there is a good deed is sweeter than dessert."

"Love The Hoxton Apprentice - hadn't been for a couple of years but it was just as good as I remembered. Five of us went on a girls night out here last Friday. The wine was brilliant, the food delicious (although the thai green curry was MUCH spicier than the waiter made out!) - the service was attentive and friendly. What more could you want! And if you're up for it the great bars of Hoxton Square are on your doorstep for a couple of drinks afterwards!! Definitely in my top 10!!"

"I've booked quite a lot of meals through Toptable but I have to say that the Hoxton Apprentice was one of the very best. The food was simply stunning (particularly with 50% off the price!) and the service wonderfully polite and considerate without ever being intrusive or overbearing. My girlfriend and I just spent the rest of the evening saying "wow, that was fabulous" at sporadic intervals in a manner normally reserved for post-coital bliss. I take back everything I ever said about Hoxton now."

"The Hoxton Apprentice stands out from others for two reasons. Firstly, it was set up by a charity, Training Tor Life, to give opportunities to the unemployed or homeless with all profits going back to the Charity and, it is an accomplished restaurant where pros and apprentices cook interesting, seasonal dishes."
